About me

Hi, I'm Carol.
Your business is becoming increasingly more visible in Brazil, but you still haven’t done anything to talk to Brazilians.
You feel like conquering the largest market in Latin America, but you’re afraid of stumbling over cultural issues and damaging your brand’s reputation.
You’ve even toyed with the idea of using Google Translate, but the results weren’t good. It’s like it lacked… humanity.
The truth is, meaningful relationships are not built in a hurry and with automatic jargon. We need a little bit more than that… But what exactly do you need?
You need a mediator.
I can help you build a close relationship with Brazilians, connecting them to your brand and your products.
My story
I am a writer, historian, translator and conference interpreter
Always a mediator
As a professional working with words, I'm responsible for the narratives I create
I’ve never overlooked the power of words, not even as a child.
When I was a kid, I used to struggle to express my fears, anxieties and difficulties verbally. So I’d always resort to writing to let my parents know I was sad, to try and apologize to my brother after a silly argument or simply to organize my thoughts. Writing has been both a scape valve and an invitation to establish a dialogue with someone else.
And by experiencing such an irresistible desire to give voice and shape to other people’s intentions – from valedictorian to designated writer of family birthday cards –, I became a mediator: as a writer, historian, translator, and conference interpreter.
Historian: my Bachelor's degree was the driver of my ability to see the world and the realities that coexist in it, teaching me to listen and understand other people's experiences
Translator and interpreter: I'm a member of the Brazil’s National Union of Translators (Sintra) and the Brazilian Association of Translators and Interpreters (Abrates), organizations that empower my professions
Writer: I started a blog called Pronoia Tradutória (2013) the moment I began freelancing, in order to devote time to projects that are aligned with my values
Words have power.
And, as a professional working with words, I am responsible for the narratives I create while working. Why is that?
Because I understand the target audience and help my clients think and communicate as if they’ve always been able to speak Brazilian Portuguese.
This is why I work in mediating between Brazilians and innovative well-being and sustainability brands; by never losing sight of cultural sensitivity, I eliminate communication noise and facilitate genuine connections.
With my mediation services:
- Your brand lands in the Brazilian market as if it’d been born and raised here, fluent in Portuguese and familiar with Brazilian cultural subtleties.
- Your brand speaks Portuguese and is socially aware. It’s mindful and respectful of urgent global causes (anti-racism, inclusion and gender equity, environmentalism).
- Your brand protects its own reputation in Brazilian territory.
- Your brand understands the needs of the Brazilian audience, who will begin to relate to and interact with the brand more frequently and spontaneously.
Shall we work together?
